VL - 1 IS - 1 SE - Research Article DO - UR - https://he02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/jnphr/article/view/249797 SP - 15-26 AB - <p>The objective of this descriptive study was to examine the results from an annual health checkup among all nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Chiang Mai in the 2018 academic year. Data were obtained from an annual health checkup from Sansai Hospital. Six health variables were included in this analysis: <em>Body Mass Index</em><em> (</em><em>BMI)</em><em>,</em> waist circumference, Cholesterol, High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), and Triglyceride. Participants were 547 nursing students who completed an annual health check-up in 2018. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that the average scores of the group as a whole were found to be normal for BMI, waist circumference, Cholesterol levels, HDL levels, and Triglyceride levels. However, when examine by year, it was found that fourth year students had a higher BMI, waist circumference, Cholesterol levels and Triglyceride levels than any other classes. This study also found that the LDL levels of students in every classes was higher than normal From this analysis, it could be possible that nursing students appear to be at risk of developing Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs). It is important to promote healthy behaviors, exercise, and proper diet in a nursing college and also to follow up of the annual health examination will help to prevent the risk of NCDs among nursing students in the future.</p> ER -
