Data were collected using the State Anxiety Inventory Form Y-1 and the interviewing questionnaires of Perceived Importance of Information and Understanding of Information. Descriptive statistics and Spearman’s rank correlation were used for data<br />analysis.</p><p><strong>Main findings</strong>: The relationship between the perceived importance of information and the parental anxiety showed no relationship at significance level .05 (rs = .18, p > .05), while the understanding of information was significantly and negatively correlated to the parental anxiety (rs = - .27, p < .05).</p><p><strong>Conclusion and recommendations</strong>: To ensure that the provision of information for parents of pediatric patients in recovery phase after cardiac surgery will reduce their anxiety nurses should assess their understanding of the information given.
