Methods: Samples were 202 Cerebrovascular Disease (CVD) risk persons, recruited through purposive sampling according to specific inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a set of questionnaires consisted of 3 parts including 1) General data and health data questionnaire, 2) Cerebrovascular disease knowledge questionnaire and 3) Cerebrovascular disease preventive behavior questionnaire. The CVD knowledge and CVD preventive behavior questionnaires were validated for its content validity by 3 experts and were tested for its reliability in 20 CVD risk persons, yielding a KR-20 of .64 and a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of .82, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: revealed that mean scores of CVD knowledge was at a low level (M = 8.80, SD =2.63). Mean scores of overall preventive behavior (M = 3.93, SD = 0.37) and alcohol drinking behavior (M = 4.85, SD = 0.49), smoking behavior (M = 4.69, SD = 0.76) and dietary behavior (M = 3.89, SD = 0.42) was at a high level, whereas the mean scores of stress management behavior (M = 3.56, SD = 0.83) and exercise (M = 3.04, SD = 0.92) was at a moderate level.
