The participants were 4 mentally disabled people (2 Thai Buddhists and 2 Thai Muslims), caregivers (2 Thai Buddhists and 2 Thai Muslims), and village health volunteers (7 Thai Buddhists and 2 Thai Muslims), who have been participated within the project for at least 2 years. We applied focus group interviewing (using semi-structure questions) to collect data and analyzed data with Colaizzi’s method. We found 3 themes from mentally disabled group (changing ability to care themselves; satisfying with caring from caregivers and village health volunteers; having self-confidence to care themselves after participating in the project); 4 themes from caregivers (feeling comforted&nbsp; regarding caring from the project; feeling more concern and pay attention to mentally disabled people to be cured; encouraging mentally disabled people to take care themselves; changing own believe about illness and caring mentally disabled people); and 5 themes from village health volunteers (earning direction for caring; dedicating to care mentally disabled people with heart; being proud to give; feeling fulfillment in ability to care for mentally disabled people; having self confidencein caring mentally disabled people).</p><p>The results reflect the strength of the project to succeed which are the academic integrating betweenuniversity and sub-district health promotion hospital continuously, and processing of knowledge sharing withvillage health volunteers.</p> ER -
