EXPECTATION OF 5As TOURISM COMPONENTS AFFECTING THE DECISION MAKING OF THAI SENIOR TO UNDERTAKE SPORT TOURISM IN BANGKOK

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research was to study expectation of 5As tourism components affecting the decision making of Thai senior to undertake sport tourism in Bangkok.


Methods: The samples used in this study were 480 Thai seniors aged 60 years old or over who live in Bangkok. Questionnaires were used as a main method to collect data in this research with IOC of 0.89 and coefficient alpha equal of 0.97. Questionnaires were collected from Thai senior who were interested to undertake sport tourism in the area of 10 public parks in Bangkok. 48 questionnaires were collected for each public park Data collection took 2 days for each area and 12 questionnaires were collected in the morning and another 12 questionnaires were in the afternoon for each day by the researcher. This study also applied statistical data analyses with the determination of patterns in the data such as the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. This research also undertook Multiple Linear Regression with statistical significance at 0.05 to test the hypothesis of this research.


Results: Hypothesis testing showed that ancillary of 5As tourism components has affected the decision making of Thai seniors to undertake sport tourism in Bangkok with statistical significance at 0.05. In contrast, accessibility, accommodation, attraction, and activities have not affected the decision making of Thai seniors to undertake sport tourism in Bangkok.


Conclusion: Only ancillary of 5As tourism components has affected the decision making of Thai seniors to undertake sport tourism in Bangkok. In contrast, accessibility, accommodation, attraction, and activities have not affected the decision making of Thai seniors to undertake sport tourism in Bangkok.
