Abstract

Complex facial injuries with gross soft tissue avulsion and bone exposure are very divesting to the patient. Partial degloving injuries are quite commonly described, whereas the hemifacial degloving with temporal and frontal bone exposure is rare. The use of split thickness skin graft is the most common performed procedure to close the defects which are unable to close primarily. In severe trauma cases, the face is the most commonly involved either isolated or in a combination with other injuries. Face consists of functional and esthetic units which makes it mandatory to know the “do’s and don’ts” to manage it appropriately. The author presented the case of post-traumatic degloving of the frontal, temporal and mandibular region which was managed with delayed
split-thickness skin graft.
