Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology received the new journal rankings in Scimago Journal & Country Rank 2022

We are pleased to inform the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RTCOG) members that Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (TJOG) already received the Q3 journal rankings (149/203 journals) with SJR score 0.158 in Obstetrics and Gynaecology category from Scimago Journal & Country Rank 2022. The quality of TJOG has been improved. TJOG has been indexed in many databases: Scopus, TCI, ASEAN Citation Index, DOAJ, EuroPub, and Google Scholar. The journal editorial team would like to thank past RTCOG executive board, past editor in chief, editorial board and staff, reviewers, all members of RTCOG, and all researchers for their kind contribution and support to TJOG.

The 14th Symposium for Thai Journal Development Network

Executive Editor and Executive Officer of Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology were invited by the Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) with financial support from the Office of Science Research and Innovation to attend the meeting: “the 14th Thai Journal Development Network Seminar” on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, G Floor, IMPACT Building. Challenger, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, Thailand. TCI conducts activities and a project to continuously improve the quality of Thai journals since 2004. The aims of this meeting were to improve the national policy on research and quality development of Thai journals and notify editors of the revised evaluation criteria for TCI journals whose journals are currently indexed in the TCI.

Project meeting "System Development and Quality Improvement of Thai Journals index in Scopus, Phase 2”

Editor in Chief and managing staff of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology were invited by the Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre, financially supported by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) on February 24, 2023 at Mandarin Hotel Bangkok, Rama 4 Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok, Thailand. TCI has implemented the project “Development and improvement of the quality of Thai journals in the Scopus database Phase 1”. The project was completed and achieved the goals that have already been set by The Office of the Science, Research, and Innovation Promotion Committee (TSRI) and the TCI Center, therefore, TCI discussed drafting the project. “System development and quality improvement of Thai journals in the Scopus database phase 2” to support the continuity of journal operations. The aims of the new project were to increase the number of articles of Thai scholars in the Scopus database, as well as increase the quality of research and Thai researchers, especially young researchers, as well as improve the quality of Thai journals in Scopus to have a higher quartile.

Project meeting "System Development and Quality Improvement Project for Thai Journals in the Scopus Database”

Editor in Chief and managing staff of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology were invited by the Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) with financial support from the Office of the Science, Research and Innovation Promotion Committee to carry out the project. “System development and quality improvement of Thai journals in the Scopus database”, which is a continuation of the project "Co-operation project TCI-TRF-Scopus” on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, Charoennakorn Road, Thonburi, Bangkok. The objectives of the meeting were to acknowledgment of the overview of the research project, demonstration of the use of the Thailand Editorial System (Thai ES), inviting experts from the reviewer pool, methods of transferring data from the Aries EM system to the Thai ES system, as well as analyzing the performance of all journals in the project and budget support for the 2nd year.

On October 5, 2022, 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m., the Thai - Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre had an online meeting with representatives of the journal editors. Editor in Chief and the journal working group in the project "System development and quality improvement of Thai journals in the Scopus database (TCI-TSRI-Scopus Collaboration Project"), which used the Editorial Manager (EM) system, totaling 15 journals (23 people) from 42 journals in the project attended this meeting. The purpose was to share the experience of using the system.

 

Project meeting "System Development and Improvement of Thai Journal Quality in the Scopus Database"

Editor in Chief and managing staff of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology were invited by the Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) with budget support from the Office of Science, Research and Innovation Promotion (OSMEP) to attend the project meeting. "System Development and Quality Improvement of Thai Journals in Scopus Database" on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Eastin Grand Hotel, Sathorn, Bangkok. The objective is to develop and improve the quality of research articles of Thai journals in the Scopus database, as well as to create a profession editor's career path in Thailand. A new modern online submission system called Editorial Manager (EM) of Aries, a journal manuscript management system, has been implemented in Thailand's journals. It is also connected to the Publons database to invite experts to evaluate the quality of the manuscripts.

Meeting on “Introducing the new version of ThaiJO 2.0 system”

Editor in Chief and managing staff of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology were invited by the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center with Office of the Science Promotion Board Research and Innovation (OSMEP), Faculty of Energy, Environment and Materials King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and The National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) to attend a meeting to discuss “Introducing the new version of ThaiJO2.0 system” on February 18, 2022 via electronic media with the purpose of introducing the new version of ThaiJO 2.0 system. The Center has implemented a project to develop the ThaiJO 2.0 system as a source of electronic journals in Thailand. On January 21, 2022, the center has updated the ThaiJO 2.0 system to a new version. The menu for using and managing journal data has been changed. This caused users to have problems using this new system.

Project meeting "Using the System EM/Reviewer Discovery/Publons"

Editor in Chief and managing staff of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology attended a meeting to discuss “Using the System EM/Reviewer Discovery/Publons” on August 17, 2020 via electronic media system. This project meeting was organized by the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center. The objectives of the meeting were to improve the quality of journals in the Scopus database for the management of the submission system as well as the selection of qualified persons from different countries to become an appraiser articles to improve management quality and the quality of articles in Thai journals.

Project meeting "System Development and Improvement of Thai Journal Quality in the Scopus Database"

Editor in Chief and managing staff of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology were invited by the Thai Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center to attend “the 4th Thai Journal System Development and Quality Improvement Project in the Scopus Database” on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Eastin Grand Hotel, Sathorn, Bangkok. The objective of the meeting was to improve the quality of research articles from 47 Thai journals in the Scopus database, including creating a career path to a professional editor in Thailand.

New online submission system beginning in 2021

The online submission system of the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology will change from THAIJO to Editorial Manager on January 1, 2021.  The authors, who would like to send the manuscript for consideration for publication in Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, should register to the new system.  In addition, the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology will increase the issue of publications from four issues per year to six issues per year starting in January 2021 (Volume 29, Number 1).  The increased frequency is a direct response to the volume of high-quality submissions by the researchers.  This will decrease the publication time of each article.

"System Development and Improvement of Thai Journal Quality in the Scopus Database" on Wednesday 9, December 2020 at Grand Ballroom, 7th Floor, Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit, Sukhumvit Road, Sukhumvit 22, Bangkok. This meeting contained the overview of the work between TCI, Editorial Manager (EM) and the editor of the journal as well as the EM: details of work and system support.

Funding of the project "System Development and Quality Improvement of Thai Journals in the Scopus Database"

Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has received the funding of the project "System Development and Quality Improvement of Thai Journals in the Scopus Database" from TCI-TSRI-Scopus Collaboration Project Phase 2.  The aims of the funding are to create Professional Editors' Career Path to happen and develop research quality through the process of developing and improving the quality of research articles in Thai academic journals in the Scopus database.

Editor in Chief and managing staff of Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology were invited from Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) to attend the conference on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (via Zoom program).  The objectives were to plan and manage Elsevier Editorial Manager, to manage the project journal website, and to monitor and evaluate the performance of the journal in the project.

Editor in Chief and managing staff of Thai J Obstet Gynecol were invited from Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) in collaboration with the Office of the Science Promotion Commission Research and Innovation (OSMEP) Faculty of Energy, Environment and Materials King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) to attend a  project meeting “TCI-TSRI-Scopus Collaboration Project Phases 1-2” on Friday 21 August 2020 at the Convention Hall A-B, 1st floor, Ambassador Hotel Sukhumvit 11, Bangkok.

The aims of the meeting were to give the details of operating methods, and conditions for receiving funding for the quality development of Thai journals in the project TCI-TSRI-Scopus Collaboration Project Phase 2 to create Professional Editors' Career Path to happen and develop research quality through the process of developing and improving the quality of research articles in Thai academic journals in the Scopus database.

TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project

Editor in Chief were invited from Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) in collaboration with the Science Promotion Board Research and innovation to attend the meeting "The development and improvement of the quality of Thai journals in the Scopus database" on Friday, 10 July 2020 from 9.00-12.00 hrs. At Prida Meeting Room Wibunsawat, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Energy, Environment and Materials Building King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand

TCI Center intends to drive the number of publications in Thailand in an international database. Through a collaboration project between the TCI-SCI Center and the Scopus (TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project) by requesting cooperation from the operations of Thai journals that are already contained in the Scopus database, with a total of 20 editors of the journals.  In order to find ways to drive the number and quality of publications in Thailand in an international database, developing quality and increasing visibility for journals that have been accepted into the international database. This will lead to better ranking of Thai universities on the world stage.

Re-evaluation Results of Thai Journals from TCI Center

We are pleased to announce that Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology already received the results of the Quality Assessment of the academic journals in the 4th round of the TCI database. TJOG has been included in the Tier 1 journal group of the TCI database.

Editor in Chief and managing staff were invited from Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center in collaboration with Thailand Science Research and Innovation, Faculty of Energy, Environment and Materials King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) to attend “The 13th TCI Symposium on Thai Scholarly Journals on the 4th Re-evaluation Results of Thai Journals and Impacts / Visibilities of Fast-Track Indexing System” on Friday 10th January 2020, at the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, Challenger 2 Building, Impact Muang Thong Thani, Popular 1 Road, Ban Mai Subdistrict, Nonthaburi 11120, Thailand.  The aims of the meeting were to announce the results of the Quality Assessment of the academic journals in the 4th round of the TCI database, to clarify the details of the evaluation and guidelines for quality development for group promotion, and to offer a fast track data import to the TCI database.

The 8th TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project

Editor in Chief and managing staff were invited from TCI center to attend "The 8th TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project" on Thursday 9th January 2020 at the Jupiter 4-5 Rooms, IMPACT Challenger, Muang Thong Thani, Popular 1 Road, Ban Mai Subdistrict, Nonthaburi 11120, Thailand.  The aims of the meeting were to report progress on the project TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project and know the criteria and guidelines for evaluating quality after entering Scopus database (also known as Scopus Re-evaluations), guidelines for quality development and impact of academic journals to raise the quartile of the journals as well Details of the international publication ethics from Prof. Dr. Peter Brimblecombe, the Scopus Subject Chair for Environmental Science.

We are pleased to announce that Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has been accepted for inclusion in the SCOPUS database. The journal editorial team would like to thank the TCI-TRF-SCOPUS Collaboration Project, Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Center, and the local board for their constructive feedback contributing to the journal quality improvement. Future articles to be published in our journal will be indexed in SCOPUS, as well as TCI and ACI (ASEAN Citation Index).

The 6th Editor’s Workshop

          Editor in Chief and managing staff were invited from TCI centre to attend "The 6th Editor’s Workshop" on March 26th, 2019 at the Convention Hall C&D, 1st Fl., Ambassador Hotel, Sukhumvit 11, Bangkok, Thailand. The 6th Editor’s Workshop was jointly organized​by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI), the Thailand Research Fund (TRF), Scopus and NECTEC.

          The workshop "Success, Lessons Leaned and Challenges of Pilot Project on Thai and ASEAN Journals for Indexing in Scopus in Year 1-2" aims to reflect on the success, challenges and lesson learned from the first year of running the pilot project under the TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project  scheme to certain Thai Editors. 

          Editorial team in the project TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project, more than 50 journals and Local Board for Thailand, attended by a total of 150 participants With the goal of bringing 40 Thai journals into the Scopus database in 2017-2020 and 23 journals in the project already submitt to Scopus.

The 5th Editor’s Workshop

Editor in Chief and managing staff were invited from TCI centre to attend the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI), the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and Scopus are jointly organized the 5th Editor’s Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand on March 8th, 2018. The Workshop aims to reflect on the success, challenges and lesson learned from the first year of running the pilot project under the TCI-TRF-Scopus Collaboration Project  scheme to certain Thai Editors. In addition, Mr Shareef Bhailal, Scopus Product Manager from Elsevier will also come to share the Scopus journal re-evaluation criteria to the participants.

Improvement of Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (TJOG)

Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (TJOG) has been included in the Thai Journal Citation Index Center (TCI) and the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI). TJOG received the National Journal Award from the 3rd TCI-Scopus-TRF Journal Awards on December 15, 2016. We plan to improve the quality of TJOG to be index in Scopus database. We would like to serve the members of RTCOG for publishing their works in TJOG, and welcome the studies from worldwide researchers.


We would like to thank past RTCOG executive board, past editor in chief, editorial board and staff, reviewers, all members of RTCOG, and all researchers for their kind contribution and support to TJOG.
