Abstract

Hirschsprung’s disease is the most common cause of intestinal obstruction in children. Despite significantadvances in the recognition, diagnosis and operative management of Hirschsprung’s disease, Hirschsprung’s associatedenterocolitis (HAEC) remains its major source of morbidity and mortality. HAEC can occur at any time during thenewborn period, preoperative or after operation. This article evaluated the occurrence of Hirschsprung’s disease and itscommon complication, HAEC at Thammasat university hospital.
