Abstract

Female genital tuberculosis is not rare in the endemic area of tuberculosis. Infertility results as the major impact of this disease. Diagnosis is hardly made since there are no pathognomonic symptoms and signs; gynecologistsû awareness plays a prime role when confronted with patients complaining infertility and tubal occlusion demonstrated. Abnormal vaginal bleeding as well as amenorrhea are common complaint. Combination of laboratory investigation with polymerase chain reaction (PCR), histopatholgy procedures, etc. can increase accuracy of diagnosis. Treatment with standard antituberculosis drugs offers good result but not increases the chance of pregnancy. Invitro fertilization with embryo transfer is recommended for such purpose.
