Learning experience management for the 21st century

Abstract

     The objectives of this article were analysis and suggestions on medical education for the 21^st century. Data collected from other articles, meetings, and personal observations. It was found that an understanding students, who are Generation Y or Z, which personal interest in learning is known to be important, and technology skills are expected to be fairly good, is necessarily required. As for teacher role, it is to bring out students' potential, empower them, and encourage them to be inspired to change themselves and create or synthesize a new efficient and practical knowledge that is needed for globalization. Recent transformative learning is change in study and interdependence in education: individual change, critical thinking, and knowledge exchange, which are causes of changes, creative activities, and learning experience.

       Suggestion: practice-oriented learning, which students are required for practical works in society, project-based learning, enquiry, analysis, synthesis, decision making in teamwork in health systems by the use of data collection and observations, is priority. Practice-oriented learning is also consist of leadership and followership practices, becoming a change agent practice, creating works by improving social capital, and learning model. Moreover, teachers are to be compassionate, love students, and encourage them to have a positive attitude.
