Administrative factors affecting educational quality assurance in Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University

Introduction: The educational quality assurance to the efficiency and effectiveness is dependent on several management factors. These factors would affect to the process of the educational quality assurance by the Deming,scycle of 4 steps: 1) Plan (P) 2) Do (D) 3) Check (C) 4) Action (A) in these factors are pushed process of the education quality assurance of institution in order to be advanced towards high quality and standards institution which are widely accepted of society. The purposes of this research were to study 1) the level of administrative factors, 2) the level of educational quality assurance, and 3) the relationship between administrative factors and education quality assurance in Faculty of medicine, Thammasat University.
Method: The sample was 216 personnel who were involved in the educational quality assurance of Faculty of Medicine selected by purposive and simple random samplings. The research instrument was a 5 rating scale questionnaire about the administrative factors affecting educational quality assurance with the reliability of 0.98. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson,scorrelation coefficient
Result: The level of administrative factors of Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University, was at the high level in general. When considering in individual areas, it was found that the areas of leadership, motivation, cooperation, communication, and organizational structure were at the high level while the area of resources was at the middle level. The level of educational quality assurance of Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University, was at the high level in general. When considering in individual areas, it was found that the areas of planning, operation, inspection and evaluation of education quality, and application of evaluation results for work improvement were all at the high level. The relationship between administrative factors and educational quality assurance in Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University, in general was positively at the high level with the statistical significance at the level of 0.01.
Discussion and Conclusion: From results of this study, level of administrative factors and level of educational quality assurance were high level overall. For each clause, a lot of clauses had moderate level, these are useful information for administrator to improve educational quality of Faculty.
