The sample consisted of 40 elderly residents in Ban Sritang Nursing Home. The simple random sampling procedure with a lottery method was used to assign 20 elderly residents into the experimental group and 20 elderly residents into the control group. The experimental group received 10 activities of the resilience-enhancing program that was conducted 120 minutes per activity for 5 weeks. The control group received normal care  provided by the nursing home. The research instrument was a structured interview. The data analysis included percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results revealed that the average posttest scores of resilience in the experimental group were statistically significant higher than the average pre-test scores at p-value <.01. The posttest score of depression in the experimental group were statistically significantly lower than the average pretest scores at p-value <.01 while the average posttest scores of social relationship were statistically significantly higher than the average pretest scores at p-value <.01. The comparison between experimental and control groups showed the average posttest score of resilience of the experimental group was statistically significantly higher than the average score of the control group at p-value <.01 and the average posttest score of social relationship of the experimental group was statistically significantly higher than the control group at p-value <.01, when controlling for the average pretest score. Thus, the resilience-enhancing program had a significant effects on the reduction of depression among elderly residents in nursing home and also enhanced social relationships.</p>}, number={1}, journal={Nursing Journal of The Ministry of Public Health}, author={เรืองเดช ชาวสวนศรีเจริญ กรรณิกา and ชาวสวนศรีเจริญ ไพบูลย์ and คงสนิท เสาวลักษณ์}, year={2019}, month={Apr.}, pages={32–47} }
