Participants of the pre-aging group were aged 50-59 years, residing in Muang District, Phayao Province. Multi-stage random sampling was used to recruit 380 participants. Interviewing questionnaires were used to collect data. Demographic data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Chi-square and Pearson’s correlation were used to identify factors related to the preparation for aging. The research revealed that over half (62.11%) were female, their average age was 54.89 (SD=3.13), 72.37% were married, and 68.16% finished primary school. Nearly half (46.57%) had physical health problems. The majority of them (80.79%) had a moderate Quality of Life score. 66.32 percent of them had a moderate level of knowledge regarding aging. The majority of them (98.86%) had a high level of attitude towards aging. Over half (62.37%) had an overall score for preparation for aging at a high level. There were seven factors significantly related to preparation for aging of the pre-aging group; working, income, annual physical examination, age (r=.190), knowledge regarding aging (r=.212), attitudes toward aging (r=.332) and Quality of Life (r=.463). Research suggests that health care providers should promote activities for improving the quality of life and enhance them regarding financial preparation in order to be the healthy elderly.</p> ER -
