The sample comprised of 50 first-time teenage pregnant women receiving care from an antenatal clinic and delivering at a provincial hospital in Southern Thailand during November 2018 to April 2019. Fifty participants who met the inclusion criteria were equally divided into an experimental group (25 subjects), who received the childbirth preparation program with continuous labor support, and a control group (25 subjects), who received usual nursing care. The instruments for giving intervention consisted of the childbirth preparation program with continuous labor support. The instruments for data collection consisted of 1) the demographic data, 2) pregnancy information, and 3) a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain. All instruments in this study were content validated by three experts. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation for demographic data, and the hypotheses were tested using the independent t-test. The results revealed that the experimental group had a mean score of labor pain during the latent phase, the active phase, and the transitional phase statistically significantly less than the control group (p&lt;.001). The finding of this study suggested that the childbirth preparation program with continuous labor support can help first-time teenage pregnant women to better cope with labor pain than those receiving usual nursing care.</p> ER -
