The objective of this research was to study the factors related to smoking behavior of people in Mae Ka Sub-district, Phayao Province. Data were collected from a sample of 370 people aged 20-60 years old. randomly sampled by Cluster Sampling. The data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation and chi-square statistic.</p><p>            The results showed that of  the sample ware female (75.9%), had under 30 years old (48.7%), graduated from secondary school (54.3%), engaged in commercial and self-employed jobs (52.2%), had monthly income between 5,001-10,000 baht (35.2%), have no underlying disease (85.7%), smokers (51.1%), had a high level of knowledge about smoking prevention (51.1%), had moderate smoking attitudes (69.2%), were affected by moderate smoking (51.4%), had a high level of smoking prevention guidelines (76.8%) and a low level of smoking behavior (50.0%). Correlation analysis showed that gender, education, occupation, personal income, smoking history, smoking knowledge, attitudes and effects of smoking were significantly associated with smoking behavior at level 0.05. While age, congenital disease and prevention were not associated with smoking behavior.</p><p>            Individuals, communities, families, as well as public health volunteers social support activities should be organized to make everyone aware of the advantages of quitting smoking and the disadvantages of smoking are always to encourage people to have a positive attitude in changing health behaviors in order to create guidelines for more effective prevention and impact of smoking.</p> ER -
