This causes hyperglycemia that results in both acute and chronic complications. Diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES) education and support will help people with diabetes to change their behavior to control diabetes and to have a good quality of life  Objective: To study the effect of self-management education and support (DSMES) on knowledge of self-care ability sugar control satisfaction and quality of life of people with diabetes in patients with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes  Method: experimental study the sample was chosen randomly. The sample group consisted of 42 people, divided into 22 experimental groups and 20 control groups. Data were collected at endocrine and metabolic clinics Faculty of Medicine Vajira Hospital The results were measured before and after the experiment. The experimental group received DSMES, and the control group received normal care. The control and experimental groups were collected initially and every 3 months until 1 year. The study period was from October 2019 to March 2021. Data were analyzed using independent t-tests and One-way repeated measures ANOVA repeated on time  Results: It was found that the experimental group receiving DSMES had lower mean cumulative glucose (HbA1C) and fasting blood sugar (FBS) significantly more than the control group (p-value < .001) self-care ability (p-value < .001), quality of life (p-value < .001), and satisfaction (p-value < .001) increased compared to before educating and significantly more than the control group (p-value < .001). Conclusion: The effect of DSMES on people with diabetes showed good results on blood glucose control, knowledge, quality of life, and service satisfaction. All diabetics especially those with poor diabetes control should receive DSMES to control diabetes to meet treatment goals.
