Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate factors related complications in Penile Paraffinoma patients at Udonthani Hospital. The sample was 103 patient’s record. The Instrument consisted of personal data and factors related complications in Penile Paraffinoma patients (IOC=0.67-1.00, r = 0.82). Analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and binary logistic regression. The result was found:

1) Most were 30-39 years old (39.81%, gif.latex?\bar{x}= 35.41s, S.D.=11.17), Married (64.08%), Living outside Udon thani (67.96%), primary school and lower (49.51%), Farmers (31.07%), Earning 5,000 - 9,999 baht per month (40.78%, gif.latex?\bar{x}= 8,369.22 S.D.= 7756.70). Complications among Penile Paraffinoma (85.44%) were classified into 4 groups: 1) Pain/swelling (56.31%)    2) Pain/swelling with urinary incontinence (15.53%) 3) Pain/swelling with ulcer (7.77%) 4) Pain /swelling with mass (5.83%). Admission less than 5 days (53.40%), Olive oil Injected (50.49%), Injected by acquaintance (59.22%), Treated by surgery (54.37%), Alcohol and smoking (36.89%)

2. Factors related complications in Penile Paraffinoma patients were: Patients with underlying disease have a greater likelihood of complications than patients with no underlying disease (1.43 times, OR adj = 1.43, 95% CI = 0.06 - 0.91), other substance Injected had complications greater than olive oil injected (5.03 times, OR adj = 5.03, 95% CI = 1.33-19.06).
