The instruments used were the Demographic Questionnaire, the preventing peritonitis behavior instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test.

The findings showed that participants had significantly increased their mean score on family health management behavior and after finished program increased in preventing peritonitis behaviors score in personal; family and whole (p<.05). These results demonstrated that the family health management behavior program can increase in preventing peritonitis behavior score. Nurses and healthcare providers can apply this program to promote shared care between patients and their families.
