Investigation of Chikungunya Disease, Surin Province November 4, 2018 - March 15, 2019

Abstract

Investigation of Chikungunya disease, Surin province among November 4, 2018-March 15, 2019 the objective were to confirm diagnosis and describe outbreak of the diseases. The descriptive study by place, time, person, laboratory and environment survey were set to this event. One hundred and fifty-five illness that meet definition, 25 checked for chikungunya (16.67 %) and 10 found (40.00 %), 5 of mosquitoes check for Aedes aegyptiand it was not found. Patients were spread in all age groups. Outbreak was found between November 2018 to February 2019. It was propagated source, confirmed cases in 4 villages, 2 districts. Risk factors for disease include high mosquito larvae index. Disease control measures that are already implemented are mosquito elimination, how to eliminate mosquito breeding sites. Public relations to educate people whose diseases have calmed down without finding patients in chikungunya disease in the ground starting on February 20, 2019.
