The operation of tobacco consumption control at Tambon Nong Sano, Amphoe Sam Ngam, Changwat Phichit

Abstract

This academic article aims to present  the operation of controlling tobacco consumption at Tambon Nong Sano, Amphoe Sam Ngam, Changwat Phichit.  The major activities include creation of non-smoking areas within house, temple, and other public areas in this community. Awareness campaigns also are created on world no-tobacco day and on various occasions in the community. The key success factors of these mechanisms are the cooperation amongst various stakeholders including local and  regional government officers, non-profit organizations, temple, leaders and people in the community as well as co-creation with leaders and people in the community. Moreover,  nurses working at Tambon Nong Sano and in Amphoe Sam Ngam  take countless roles including  manager,  academic consultant, project coordinator,  project manager,  and project evaluator.  All of these roles aim at continuously driving cooperation amongst stakeholders and following-up numerous activities implemented within the community.
