Predicting factors of health - related quality of life among patients with gout
Main Article Content
Abstract
This predictive research aimed to examine factors predicting health-related quality of life among patients with gout. A sample of 405 patients was selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using the questionnaires, including the short from health survey 36 (SF-36) Thai version, the Thai version of health assessment questionnaire, and the Thai version of general health questionnaire (Thai GHQ-28). The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients were 0.83, 0.80, and 0.86 respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results showed that predicting factors of health-related quality of life among patients with gout were the activity of daily living (Beta = -.490), mental health (Beta = -.175), and gender (Beta = .111). These factors could explain 41.4 percent of the variance in health-related quality of life among patients with gout at p < .05.
