Using data from the routine health information system to evaluate the system performance in dental health care

Abstract

The report system in dental health of Thailand in the past used oral health status indicators in evaluate the oral health service system. This study reviewed about indicators and definition in health service system and oral health informations that use at present by using National oral health survey and dental health reports to develop the tools that can evaluate the system performance in oral health care. The system covered input, process and outcome and the results demonstrated 17 indicators for measure the system performance in oral health care that can divide in 3 major groups: 1) oral health status 2) type of service unit, input factors and 3) dental service system performance.
