ผลของโปรแกรมการให้ทันตสุขศึกษาที่มีต่อดัชนีคราบจุลินทรีย์ในผู้ป่วยจิตเวช

บทคัดย่อ
ผู้ป่วยจิตเวชมีความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดโรคในช่องปากสูงการป้องกันการเกิดโรคโดยการให้ทันตสุขศึกษา จึงมีความสำคัญ การศึกษาแบบกึ่งวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินผลของโปรแกรมการให้ทันตสุขศึกษา ที่มีต่อการลดลงของดัชนีคราบจุลินทรีย์ในผู้ป่วยจิตเวช วิธีการศึกษาทำโดยคัดเลือกผู้ป่วยจิตเวชในของสถาบัน จิตเวชศาสตร์สมเด็จเจ้าพระยาจำนวน 30 คนมาเข้ากลุ่มให้ทันตสุขศึกษาและฝึกปฏิบัติแปรงฟัน ทำการสัมภาษณ์พฤติกรรมทันตสุขภาพและย้อมคราบจุลินทรีย์ก่อนและหลังการให้โปรแกรมทันตสุขศึกษา วิเคราะห์ความแตกต่างระหว่างดัชนีคราบจุลินทรีย์ก่อนและหลังการให้โปรแกรมทันตสุขศึกษาด้วยแบบทดสอบที่ (paired t-test) ผลการสัมภาษณ์ พบว่าผู้ป่วยส่วนใหญ่
ร้อยละ 70.0 มีปัญหาสุขภาพช่องปาก และพฤติกรรมทันตสุขภาพที่เป็นปัญหาได้แก่ การแปรงฟันไม่ถูกวิธี ใช้อุปกรณ์ทำความสะอาดฟันไม่เหมาะสม และไม่มาพบทันตแพทย์สม่ำเสมอ หลังการให้โปรแกรมทันตสุขศึกษาแล้วพบว่าผู้ป่วยมีค่าดัชนีคราบจุลินทรีย์ลดลงเมื่อเทียบกับก่อน เข้าโปรแกรมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.05) ดังนั้นการนำโปรแกรมการให้ทันตสุขศึกษามาใช้ในผู้ป่วยจิตเวช สามารถทำให้ผู้ป่วยทำความสะอาดฟันได้ดีขึ้น
