ข้อจำกัดและอุปสรรคของทันตแพทย์ต่อการให้บริการทันตกรรมแก่ผู้บกพร่องด้านสติปัญญาและการเรียนรู้ ในประเทศไทย

บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษานี้ เป็นการศึกษาแบบภาคตัดขวาง มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาข้อจำกัดและอุปสรรคของทันตแพทย์ที่มีต่อการให้บริการทันตกรรมในผู้บกพร่องด้านสติปัญญาและการเรียนรู้ โดยการส่งแบบสอบถามไปยังทันตแพทย์ในชมรมทันตกรมสำหรับเด็กแห่งประเทศไทย เพื่อสอบถามเกี่ยวกับข้อจำกัดและอุปสรรคตลอดจนข้อเสนอแนะเพื่อการเข้าถึงบริการทันตกรรมของกลุ่มผู้ป่วยดังกล่าว ผลการศึกษา พบว่า ทันตแพทย์ ผู้ตอบส่วนใหญ่ มีประสบการณ์ในการให้บริการทันตกรรมแก่ผู้บกพร่องด้านสติปัญญาและการเรียนรู้ และเห็นว่าบทบาทของทันตแพทย์สำหรับผู้ป่วยกลุ่มนี้ได้แก่
การส่งเสริมป้องกัน การรักษาทางทันตกรรมทั่วไปและเฉพาะทาง ตลอดจนการสร้างระบบและความพร้อมในการให้บริการทันตกรรมแก่ผู้บกพร่องด้านสติปัญญาและการเรียนรู้ข้อจำกัดและอุปสรรคที่สำคัญในการให้บริการทันตกรรมแก่ผู้ป่วยกลุ่มดังกล่าว ได้แก่ การสื่อสาร และการจัดการพฤติกรรมผู้ป่วย ขาดความมั่นใจในความรู้และทักษะของตน ขาดความพร้อมของสถานที่ ความ ไม่พร้อมด้านเครือข่ายการปรึกษาและส่งต่อผู้ป่วยและ การขาดนโยบายจากผู้บริหาร ตามลำดับ ข้อเสนอแนะเพื่อส่งเสริมการเข้าถึงบริการทันตกรรมในประเทศไทย คือ การพัฒนาเครือข่ายในการปรึกษาและส่งต่อผู้ป่วย การพัฒนาศักยภาพในการบริการทันตกรรมของทันตแพทย์และบุคลากรอื่นๆที่เกี่ยวข้อง การส่งเสริมนโยบาย โดยการสร้างแรงจูงใจในการให้บริการ ตลอดจนการสร้างหน่วยบริการคู่สัญญาในการให้บริการทันตกรรมแก่ ผู้บกพร่องด้านสติปัญญาและการเรียนรู้ ผลการศึกษาที่ได้ สามารถนำมาใช้เป็นแนวทางเพื่อส่งเสริมการ เข้าถึงบริการทันตกรรมแก่ผู้บกพร่องด้านสติปัญญาและการเรียนรู้ ในประเทศไทยต่อไป
