บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษาเชิงกึ่งทดลองนี้ ต้องการศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมพัฒนาความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพช่องปากต่อการป้องกันโรคเหงือกอักเสบในนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 แขวงคำม่วน สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว (สปป.ลาว) ที่เป็นโรคเหงือกอักเสบจากโรงเรียน 2 แห่ง ๆ ละ 30 คน ซึ่งจำแนกเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มเปรียบเทียบด้วยการสุ่มแบบง่าย กลุ่มทดลองได้รับโปรแกรมพัฒนาความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพช่องปากต่อการป้องกันโรคเหงือกอักเสบในระยะเวลา 8 สัปดาห์ ซึ่งมี 5 กิจกรรม ได้แก่ 1) การพัฒนาทักษะการเข้าถึงข้อมูลด้านสุขภาพช่องปาก 2) การเพิ่มพูนความรู้สุขภาพช่องปาก 3) การแปรงฟันหลังอาหารกลางวัน 4) การฝึกตรวจสุขภาพช่องปาก และ 5) การกระตุ้นการแปรงฟัน ส่วนกลุ่มเปรียบเทียบมีเพียงการแปรงฟันหลังอาหารกลางวันซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมปกติ เครื่องมือวัดผลก่อนและหลังการทดลองในทั้งสองกลุ่มประกอบด้วย 1) แบบสัมภาษณ์ความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพช่องปาก 2) แบบสัมภาษณ์พฤติกรรมการบริโภคอาหาร การแปรงฟัน และการตรวจและเฝ้าระวังสุขภาพช่องปาก 3) แบบตรวจปริมาณแผ่นคราบจุลินทรีย์ และ 4) แบบตรวจสภาวะเหงือก โดยทันตแพทย์เป็นผู้ตรวจปริมาณแผ่นคราบจุลินทรีย์และเหงือกอักเสบ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและสถิติเชิงอนุมาน ด้วยการทดสอบทีในข้อมูลของกลุ่มเดียวกัน (paired t-test) และในข้อมูล 2 กลุ่มที่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน (independent t-test) การทดสอบลำดับที่โดยเครื่องหมายของวิลค็อกซัน (Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Ranks Test) และการทดสอบแมน-วิทนีย์ ยู (Mann-Whitney U test) ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 หลังจากได้รับโปรแกรมดังกล่าวกลุ่มทดลองมีความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพ พฤติกรรมการบริโภคอาหาร การแปรงฟัน การตรวจและเฝ้าระวังสุขภาพช่องปาก ดีขึ้นกว่าก่อนทดลอง และดีกว่ากลุ่มเปรียบเทียบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.001) สภาพเหงือกอักเสบและปริมาณแผ่นคราบจุลินทรีย์ในกลุ่มทดลองลดลงกว่าก่อนการทดลอง และลดลงกว่ากลุ่มเปรียบเทียบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.001)
