Abstract

The Yasui operation is a complex biventricular repair for a patient with adequately sized ventricles, ventricular
septal defect, severe hypoplastic or atretic aortic valve and severe hypoplastic or interrupted aortic arch. This
operation is rarely performed due to its complexity and rarity of cases. We report the first successful Yasui operation
in Thailand which was performed on 21st April 2010. Early to mid term results and a review of the literature are
presented in this report. In conclusion, one stage primary Yasui operation in neonate can be performed safely with
good results.
