การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพแวดล้อมทางกายภาพและพฤติกรรมของผู้ใช้งานภายในหอศิลป์วัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานครและเพื่อเสนอแนะแนวทางการจัดการพื้นที่และองค์ประกอบต่างๆ ภายในอาคาร อันจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในการนำไปใช้ปรับปรุงและแก้ไขให้เหมาะสมในอนาคต

การศึกษาในครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นการศึกษาหลักการออกแบบสากลเพื่อสนองผู้ใช้งานทุกคน เพื่อเป็นแนวทางการออกแบบองค์ประกอบต่างๆภายในอาคารให้มีสภาพแวดล้อมทางกายภาพที่ตอบสนองต่อผู้ใช้งานได้ทุกคนการศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้แก่ ผู้เข้าใช้งานภายในหอศิลป์วัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างเพื่อตอบแบบสอบถามจำนวน 200 คนจากผู้เข้าใช้บริการ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าหอศิลป์วัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานครเป็นพื้นที่ดึงดูดความสนใจผู้พบเห็นและมีกิจกรรมหลากหลายและสามารถรองรับผู้ใช้งานได้เป็นจำนวนมาก แต่อย่างไรก็ตามยังพบปัญหาภายในอาคารที่ยังไม่สามารถรองรับการใช้งานได้

Abstract

The researchis aimed to study the physical environment and the behavior of users withinBangkok Art and Culture Centre for suggesting the ways to managethe usable areas and several other elements within the building. The study is intended to provide useful information for Bangkok Art and Culture Centreto develop new and more effective approaches for the future.

Mainly, the study focuses on the principles of universal design as guidelines to improvethe physical environment of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Methodologically, the present study is survey research.While all users of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre were assigned as populations, 200 respondents were randomly selected as samples.  The study indicated that Bangkok Art and Culture Centrenot only was attractive but also had a variety of activities for a large number of users.  However,there still were problems relating to the inequality and discrimination among groups in using the building.  Thus, as far as the design for all was concerned,the issue of equality among users must take into account.
