The Study of Body as Symbolic Representtations in Art by Pinaree Sanpitak and Watchaporn Yoodee

Abstract
The human body is an important source of inspiration in the artistic practice. It basically signifies human existence rather than physic property. It also has the concealed issue such social, religious, philosophical and political. Since drawing of art academic has idealized the natural form, focused on the anatomy fundamental. The meaning of art creation has widely expanded to representing the transform of body with the new concept, technique and style.
From past to the present, the creation of artwork has related to the human or human body and symbols to communicating the emotional and feeling idea of artist experience for example everyday life subjects, mannerisms and gestures. It is important that the artist intentionally presents the subject of human body in different ways. They represent the idea and issue of social event and cultural context, to reflect their aesthetic and emotion in the meaning of culture and social.
This study interests to analyze of the symbol of human body representing of the woman artists that communicate their perceptions and perspectives. Two woman artists have chosen; Pinnaree Sanpitak uses the symbol to representing distinctly woman body such torso and breasts; Wajcharaporn Yudee’s Thai contemporary painting represents the artist’s body to explore the passion and grief of woman who lost baby during pregnant.
The visual presentation of the body in the artwork of women artists concentrate to analyze the meaning of social and culture through human body. By analyzing the development of creativity, it has related to the process of creating the identity subjects and issues of desire suppressed in the subconscious. Without limiting the perception as the imagination of the viewer to challenge the condition of the unconscious through symbols in artwork.
