บทคัดย่อ

            กั้งกระดาน (Thenus orientalis)  เป็นสัตว์น้ำเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญชนิดหนึ่งของภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้โดยเฉพาะบริเวณอ่าวไทยที่ระดับความลึกประมาณ 20 – 50 เมตร กั้งกระดานมักอาศัยอยู่บริเวณชายฝั่งที่มีลักษณะเป็นโคลน หรือทราย และมีพฤติกรรมกินเนื้อ (carnivorous) เป็นอาหารหลัก ในธรรมชาติอัตราการเติบโตของประชากรกั้งกระดานจะมีความสัมพันธ์ดังสมการ L_t = 368(1-e^{-0.1279(t-0.7368)}) ในเพศผู้ และ L_t  =  300 (1-e^{-0.1690(t-0.7000)}) ในเพศเมีย มีฤดูกาลสืบพันธุ์ตั้งแต่เดือนกันยายนไปจนถึงเดือนเมษายน  และความดกของไข่ (fecundity) เฉลี่ย 18,000 – 22,000  ฟอง สถานภาพด้านการประมงของกั้งกระดานในปัจจุบันอยู่ในระดับเกินขนาด (over fishing) ส่งผลให้เกิดอุตสาหกรรมการเพาะเลี้ยงซึ่งปัจจุบันจะใช้วิธีรวบรวมพ่อแม่พันธุ์จากธรรมชาตินำมาเลี้ยงในบ่อพักจนพร้อมที่จะทำการสืบพันธุ์ที่ขนาดความกว้างของ carapace ประมาณ 55 – 65 มิลลิเมตร ตัวอ่อนของกั้งกระดานดำรงชีวิตแบบแพลงก์ตอนซึ่งมีพัฒนาการทั้งหมด 5 ระยะ แต่ละระยะจะใช้เวลาประมาณ 6 – 9 วัน และกั้งกระดานในระยะวัยรุ่น (juvenile) จะมีน้ำหนักเฉลี่ย 150 กรัม ในเวลาประมาณ 6 เดือน

Abstract

          Sand lobster (Thenus orientalis) is a commercial aquatic animal of Southeast Asia, especially the Gulf of Thailand at 20 – 50 m depth. Sand lobster lives in mud or sand coastal areas and is carnivorous. Growth rate of the sand lobster population is expressed as L_t = 368 (1-e^{-0.1279(t-0.7368)}) in male and L_t = 300 (1-e^{-0.1690(t-0.7000)}) in female. Breeding season is September to April and average fecundity is 18,000 – 22,000 eggs.

Current fisheries status of this lobster is over fishing in the nature and leads to the beginning of sand lobster aquaculture industry. In aquaculture system, broodstocks are taken from natural sources and rears in pond. Broodstocks are matured when carapace length is 55 – 65 mm. The larva of the lobster is planktonic form. Development of larva consists of 5 stages, each stage will take about 6-9 days. The juvenile has average weight 150 g in 6 month.
