วาดเส้นร่วมสมัย คืออะไร

Abstract

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้พัฒนาจากเนื้อหาส่วนหนึ่งของวิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง การวิเคราะห์งานวาดเส้นร่วมสมัยไทยในต้นศตวรรษที่ 21 (พ.ศ. 2543 – 2555 / ค.ศ. 2000 – 2012) ซึ่งเป็นการศึกษาวิจัยผลงานศิลปะแบบการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพแนวปรากฏการณ์วิทยา (phenomenological research)*** อันมีจุดมุงหมายหลัก คือ ทาความเขาใจอย่างเป็นระบบกับปรากฏการณ์การสร้างสรรค์งานวาดเส้นร่วมสมัยไทยในต้นศตวรรษที่ 21
เนื้อหาในบทความนี้เรียบเรียงจากบทวิเคราะห์ในส่วนการศึกษาวิธีคิดของการให้ความหมาย หรือ การจากัดความคาว่า “วาดเส้น” “Drawing” และ “วาดเส้นร่วมสมัย” “Contemporary drawing” ทั้งในทางวิชาการ และในทางปฏิบัติ คือ ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวของศิลปิน เพื่อมองหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างนิยาม ความหมายและการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานโดยสารวจเอกสารสิ่งตีพิมพ์ หนังสือจานวนมาก และการสัมภาษณ์ศิลปิน อาจารย์และนักวิชาการศิลปะผู้สร้างสรรค์งานวาดเส้นหรือเขียนบทความเกี่ยวกับวาดเส้น จานวน 7 คนและศิลปินรุ่นใหม่จานวน 13 คน
โดยสรุปแม้ยังไม่มีผู้ใดนิยามคาว่า “วาดเส้นร่วมสมัย” คืออะไร โดยตรง แต่ชี้ได้ว่าความหมายของ “วาดเส้น”ที่ยอมรับกันทั่วไปนั้นเป็นความหมายเชิงวิธีการ แต่“วาดเส้นร่วมสมัย” มีความนิยามที่เปิดกว้าง ในฐานะผลงานสร้างสรรค์ที่เสร็จบริบูรณ์ในตัว ไม่มีข้อจากัดว่าต้องอยู่ในกระดาษ อุปกรณ์ต้องเป็นแท่งและกลวิธีต้องเป็นการลาก ขีด เขียน ตามความเข้าใจเรื่อง “วาดเส้น”ที่มีอยู่เดิม

Abstract
This article is developed from the part of thesis: The analysis of Thai contemporary drawing at the beginning of 21ST century (A.D. 2000 - 2012) which is phenomenological research. The main purpose of the thesis is to study the systematic understanding of art and cultural phenomena especially of Thai contemporary drawing at the dawn of 21ST.
All contents are compiled from the analysis of the definitions of theoretical and practical terms which are “wad-sen”, “drawing”, “wad-sen-ruam-samai”, and “contemporary drawing” (artist’s art practice) in order to find the relationship between the given definitions and creative process. The research conducted from various kinds of sources for example; documents, books and in-depth interviews as a qualitative research (including 7 artist-lecturers and 13 young artists).
In conclusion, there is no clear definition of what is contemporary drawing. In general, the meaning of “drawing” is the method or process while “contemporary drawing” is defined as a type of artwork with the board range of definition which is not necessarily to be produced on paper or in two dimensions. Materials are selectively used by the artist on any surface with any kind of mark.
