บทคัดย่อ

               พุทธปฏิมาขนาดใหญ่ปรากฏหลักฐานการสร้างตั้งแต่ครั้งวัฒนธรรมทวารวดี แต่ไม่มีการค้นพบหลักฐานทางลายลักษณ์อักษรว่ามีแรงบันดาลใจการสร้างมาจากคติความเชื่อเรื่องใด ต่อมาในอาณาจักรสุโขทัยได้ปรากฏหลักฐานการสร้างพุทธปฏิมาขนาดใหญ่ที่เรียกว่าพระอัฏฐารส หรือพระพุทธรูปยืนสูง 18 ศอก ที่เชื่อกันได้ว่ามีแรงบันดาลใจมาจากคัมภีร์มธุรัตถวิลาสินี และปมาณเวมัตตะ ในพระไตรปิฎก ขุททกนิกาย พุทธวงศ์ ที่กล่าวถึงคติความเชื่อว่าพระพุทธเจ้าทรงมีพระสรีระสูง 18 ศอกการสร้างพุทธปฏิมาขนาดใหญ่คงอยู่ในกรอบแห่งความเชื่อเรื่องพระสรีระเท่าองค์พระพุทธเจ้าเมื่อยังมีพระชนม์ชีพอยู่ ซึ่งมีการเรียกกันว่าพระอัฏฐารสในพุทธปฏิมาอิริยาบถยืน หรือพุทธปฏิมาฉลองพระองค์พระพุทธเจ้าในพุทธปฏิมาอิริยาบถอื่นๆ

               สืบต่อมาพุทธปฏิมาขนาดใหญ่มีการสร้างอย่างแพร่หลายในดินแดนไทย นับเนื่องแต่ครั้งอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน การผันแปรเรื่องคติการสร้างเป็นสิ่งหนึ่งที่ย่อมเกิดขึ้น การสร้างพุทธปฏิมาขนาดใหญ่ร่วมสมัยในปัจจุบัน ได้มีแนวความคิดในการกำหนดพุทธปฏิมาขนาดใหญ่ที่หลากหลายมากยิ่งขึ้น ตลอดจนถึงการสร้างคติอย่างใหม่เพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับขนาดการสร้าง กลุ่มพุทธปฏิมาไสยาสน์ขนาดใหญ่ เป็นตัวอย่างในการศึกษาที่สำคัญในเรื่องของคติการสร้างที่ผันแปร ทั้งในเรื่องการแสดงปาง และอิริยาบถ ตลอดจนถึงการใช้แนวความคิดอย่างใหม่เพื่อให้สัมพันธ์กับเหตุที่สร้างให้มีขนาดใหญ่ บทความนี้เป็นการนำเสนอการปรับเปลี่ยนคติการสร้างพุทธปฏิมาไสยาสน์ขนาดใหญ่ ตั้งแต่ครั้งอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน ว่ามีคติที่ปรับเปลี่ยน และมีการสร้างคติใหม่ในการสร้างพุทธปฏิมาไสยาสน์ขนาดใหญ่ด้วยเหตุใดบ้าง

Abstract

            The Big colossal seeping Buddha Image the evidence of construction since the culture of Thavaravadee but never discover the archaeological evidence that never show the inspiration of which principle story until Sukhothai Kingdom appears the construction evidence of the big statue of Buddha that called PhraAttatharos or the statue of Buddha standing in 18 cubit and believe that the inspiration was fromthe  Maturatthawilasineescripture and PamanwaymattaTripitakaKuttaka SectBuddhavamsa that mention about the principle of belief that Buddha height is 18 cubit. The big construction statue of Buddha still in the belief that Buddha statue is same size of the body of Buddha when was alive that called PhraAttatharos in the statue of Buddha standing or the statue in the other manners.

            Afterwards, the big statue of Buddha construction extensively in Thailand since from the past to present.The change of the principle in the construction is the thing that has to happen. The contemporary construction of the big statue of Buddha in present have the idea to enactment the various of the big statue of Buddha including create the new principle to conform the construction size. The group of the big statue of Buddha sleep on one’s side is the important role model of education in the principle of the alter construction, according to the Buddha posture and manner including the new idea to related to the reason that the construction have to be big. This article is to be present the adjustment principle construction of the big statue of Buddha sleep on one’s side from past to present that had change the principle and create the new principle of creating the big statue of Buddha sleep on one’s side in which reasons.
