บทคัดย่อ

             บทความนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการขยายตัวของย่านการค้าภายในเกาะเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยาระหว่างพ.ศ. 2486 - 2520 ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวได้เกิดการขยายตัวของย่านการค้าแห่งใหม่ขึ้นตามเส้นทางการคมนาคมทางบก ได้แก่ 1). การขยายตัวของตลาดบกหัวรอหลังการสร้างสะพานปรีดี – ธำรง พ.ศ. 2486 ซึ่งเกิดขึ้นภายหลังจากการสร้างสะพานปรีดี-ธำรง เข้าสู่เกาะเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยาในพ.ศ. 2486 ได้ส่งผลให้การขนส่งสินค้าระหว่างกรุงเทพฯกับเกาะเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยามีความสะดวกและรวดเร็ว จึงส่งผลให้เกิดการขยายตัวของอาคารพาณิชย์ที่มีร้านจำหน่ายสินค้าและบริการที่หลากหลายและทันสมัยมากขึ้น 2).การขยายตัวของอาคารพาณิชย์และตลาดหอรัตนไชยริมถนนอู่ทองระหว่างพ.ศ. 2500-2520 โดยในพ.ศ.2500 จอมพลป. พิบูลสงคราม ซึ่งเป็นนายกรัฐมนตรีในขณะนั้น ได้ดำเนินนโยบายซ่อมและสร้างถนน 7 สายภายในเกาะเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยา ซึ่งได้มีส่วนส่งเสริมให้เกิดการขยายตัวของอาคารพาณิชย์ในลักษณะศูนย์การค้าและโรงภาพยนตร์ในตลาดหอรัตนไชย ระหว่างพ.ศ. 2515-2520 ซึ่งในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าว ตลาดหอรัตนไชยได้กลายเป็นย่านการค้าทางบกแห่งใหม่ที่สำคัญของเกาะเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยาอย่างต่อเนื่อง

Abstract

            The objective of this article is to study an expansion of trading area in Ayutthaya City Island during 1943 and 1977. The result of the study shows that in the studied period there were the expansions of trading areas along the routes of the land transportation which are     1) The expansion of the Hua-Ror market after the open of Pridi-Thamrong Bridge, which meant to link the City Island with the other provinces,  in 1943. That made the logistics transportation between Ayutthaya City Island and Bangkok more convenient and faster. As a result, there was an expansion of commercial buildings which provided different kinds of products and services, and even more modern. 2) The expansion of commercial buildings and the Hor-Rattanachai market on the U-Thing Road during 1957-1977. In 1957 Marshal P. Phibunsongkhram, the prime minister, had a policy to repair and build 7 main roads in the Ayutthaya City Island. That policy leaded to an expansion, in the period of 1972-1977, of commercial buildings, in the sort of shopping center and cinema hall, in the Hor-Rattanachai market. At that period, the Hor-Rattanachai market had become continuously the important land-trading area of Ayutthaya City Island.
