ABSTRACT
The objective of this descriptive research is to synthesize knowledge of organization development: a case study of Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand. Three components of synthesis were (1) process of development (2) outputs (3) conditions of success. Secondary documentary data was collected between November-December 2009 by analyzing contents and activities being done during 2549 B.E. - 2552 B.E. Research results indicated that the objectives of organization development were to (1) develop organization structure (2) work performance process and (3) human resources development guidelines. There were four steps of development process namely (1) yearly performance evaluation (2) organized one training program (3) examined stakeholders’ attitude (4) organized 2 brain storming workshops. Outputs of the development were (1) new organization structure (2) work performance process and (3) human resources development guidelines. Condition of successes were (1) supports from central and regional offices and stakeholders and (2) continuous development process.
Recommendations from the research are: successive organization development must be supported by both central and regional offices by setting up long term strategic development plan.
