An analysis of orbital floor angulation in 200 Thai people
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of the study were to determine the orbital floor angulation and compare the differences between sides, genders and find the correlation with ages on a retrospective basis. The orbital floor angulation in IM and AP directions were collected retrospectively from computed tomography scan of 200 Thai people. The average of the orbital floor angulations in the different sides, genders and ages were analyzed and compared using paired t-test, independent samples t-test and Pearson’s correlation, respectively. For the results, In the IM direction, the average of orbital floor angulations of right and left orbits were 129.5 and 129.4 degrees, respectively. In the AP direction, the average angulations of right and left orbits were 149.3 and 148.9 degrees, respectively. No significant difference of the orbital floor angulation was found regarding to sides, genders and ages. For conclusion, the factors, including side, gender and age, did not affect the orbital floor angulation. This study can be applied for designing a prototype of preformed reconstruction material for the floor of orbit in Thai people in the future.
