The Study of Stress and burden of caregivers of stroke patients, Mueang, Udon Thani

This research aimed to study the stress and burden of the caregiver of stroke patients at home. The sample was 80 caregivers and live in the Udon Thani between October 2016 and November 2016, and purposive sampling use. The tools consisted of personal data and Interview of the caregiver burden (IOC = 0.67 – 1.00, r = .83). Analyzed by using percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results showed that most caregivers were female, 66.25%, with an average age of 53.79 years, marital status, 71.25%, agricultural occupation, 36.25%, primary education, 72.50%, most of them have never had care experience, 96.25% have monthly income 5,001-10,000 Baht, 46.25%, with 46.25% of the disease and Moderate stress levels, 40%, high stress levels, 13.75%, moderate dependence, 31.25 %. Most of the caregivers were couples, low income, poor health, and congenital diseases. Thus, health care providers should analyze factors that affect the quality of life of caregivers. Including creating effective programs to reduce the burden of caregivers
