The Attitudes and Behaviors on Food Consumptions of the Staff in the Sakon Nakhon Hospital

Abstract

This survey research of The Attitudes and Behaviors on Food Consumptions of the Staff in the Sakon Nakhon Hospital aimed to examine three major topics, which are; 1) the attitudes on food consumptions of the staff in Sakon Nakhon Hospital  2) the food consumption behaviors of the staff in Sakon Nakhon Hospital and  3) the associations between attitudes and behaviors on food consumptions among the staff in Sakon Nakhon Hospital. The subjects of study comprised of 239 personnel in the Sakon Nakhon Hospital. The sampling consists of male and female, aged between 20 to 60 year old. Questionnaire was administered and then data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.

Major findings revealed that,

  1. The attitude on food consumptions of the staff in Sakon Nakhon Hospital was

ata good level (X=2.86, SD=0.66). The study showed that 43.5% of the respondents aware that consumption of sweetness can cause obesity. In addition, 17.2% of sampling group realized that drinking juice is good for their health.

  1. Regarding the food consumption behaviors, the staff in Sakon Nakhon

Hospitalwere at good level (X=3.01, SD=0.70). The statistics showed that 75.3% of the staff in the sampling group discarded drinking energy drink and 64.4% of the sampling withheld consuming alcohol. Additionally, 36% of the respondents drank water at least eight glasses per day and 39.7% regularly drink tea and coffee.

  1. The Significant positive correlations were found at the score of ๐.๐๑ (r=0.52)

Inthe associations between attitudes and behaviors on food consumptions among the staff in Sakon Nakhon Hospital. It can be indicated that a good level of attitude on food consumptions was related to a good level of behaviors on food consumptions among the staff in Sakon Nakhon Hospital.
