The Prevalence and Associate factors of anemia in mothers delivered In Nongkhai hospital.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate prevalence and factors related to anemia mothers in Nongkhai Hospital. Research methods: A descriptive retrospective study of 2,302 mothers who delivery in Nongkhai Hospital since January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The study group consisted of 712 anemic mothers (hematocrit (HCT) < 33 % at labour) and control group consisted of 1,590 non-anemic mothers (HCT≥ 33 % at labour) .The data were collected from medical records and the birth registration forms. Descriptive statistics were employed to describe sample characteristics and prevalence. Inferential statistics was performed for testing the relationship between anemia and related factors. The p< 0.05 was considered as a statistic significant.
Results: The prevalence of anemia in mothers who delivery in Nongkhai Hospital was 30.90 %. The mean value of hematocrit was 35.062 % (SD 3.605). The risk factors were mothers under the age 20 (p=0.009), first antenatal care at ≥ 12 weeks (p<0.001), number of antenatal care less than 5 times (p<0.001), BMI index before pregnancy ≥ 23 kg/m2 (p<0.001), hematocrit at first antenatal care less than 33% (p<0.001), multiparity (p=0.038), cesarean section (p<0.001) , BMI index at labour < 23 kg/m2 (p<0.001), premature rupture of membrane (p=0.003) and low birth weight of babies (p=0.010).
Conclusion: Pregnant women in Nongkhai would have been a guide for pregnant service systems. It is beneficial not only screening for high risk pregnancy but also searching for woman at reproductive age to reduce the prevalence of anemia in Nongkhai.
