Development of the Nursing Practice Guideline for Maxillofacial surgery Patients Operating room Kumphawapi Hospital

Abstract

The action research aimed to develop nursing practice guideline maxillofacial surgery patients operating room kumphawapi hospital for improving nursing care in operating room. The sample consisted of 48 patients and 29 register nurse operating rooms. The research framework adopted Deming’s cycle improvement process which consisted of four steps: Plan Do Check  Act to develop an application. Research tools consisted of 2 sets; nursing practice guideline maxillofacial surgery patients operating room and the questionnaire about nursing practice guideline maxillofacial surgery patients. Descriptive statistics had been used to analyze numeric data as percentage and mean.Content analysis had been used to analyze qualitative data.

The results revealed that service system management consisted of solving personnel problems, process, materiel and evaluations. There were development nursing practice guideline maxillofacial surgery patients operating room all 3 phases pre-post operations. Practical guidelines had been developed and validated by 3 experts. Have a most zygomatic injury were 22.9%. The most surgical techniques was 29.2% Open reduction and internal fixation with plate & screw. 

In term the Opinion for guideline maxillofacial surgery patients operating room reviews found at the top 2 levels. Convenient and suitable for use ( X= 4.9 ,SD= 0.31).The guideline can be put into practice ( X= 4.9 ,SD= 0.31). Improvement of the evaluation are suggestions the guideline maxillofacial surgery patients operating room can actually be used efficiently in operating rooms and surgery wards. There should be update the content and suitable for the content of the department. Provide patients with quality nursing service is safe.
