The effect of health promotion on individualized stress management through internet individual for COVID-19 patients in Sangkhom hospital and Phan hospital Udothani
Abstract
This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate effects of an online health-promotion program for stress management individually amongst people with COVID-19 in Community Hospitals, Udon Thani Province. Forty COVID-19 patients were asked to participate in the a one-group pre-posttest design. The research instruments used to collect data consisted of 1) demographic data, 2) stress test questionnaires (ST-5), and 3) coping assessment questionnaires. These instruments were met their internal reliability by computed Cronbach’s alpha coefficient at 0.81. Then planning and an online health-promotion program considerations were approached individually for stress management. The statistics used to analyze the data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test.
The results revealed that after attending the program, the stress of participants was appeared to decrease significantly compared to before participation with the statistical significance of 0.05 (before participation =9.53, S.D.=2.55, after participation =1.33, S.D.=1.25). While coping scores were reported to increase significantly compared to before participation with the statistical significance of 0.05 (before participation =40.40, S.D.=4.94, after participation =57.80, S.D.=6.15). It can be concluded that this online health promotion program for stress management individually is effective.
