The Development of Surveillance and Promotion Model of Early childhood Development in Child Care Center, Nonghan District, Udonthani

Abstract

This action research aimed to develop surveillance and promotion model of early childhood development in child care centers, Nonghan District, Udonthani. The study consisted of 4 phases: 1) Planning 2) Implementation 3) Monitoring and 4) Reflection. A multi-stage target group and a simple random were used to selected target group representing 4 areas of Nong Han District, a total of 97 people, including personnel groups and parents of young children. The research instruments were examined for content validity by 5 experts. The Cranbach’s alpha coefficient was employed for verifying the reliability. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and qualitative data using content analysis.

Results of this study found that the development model consisted of 3 components: 1) policy formulation, 2) integrated implementation, and 3) monitoring system linking from the service center to the community using participatory strategies. The evaluation of surveillance and promotion model of early childhood development in child care center revealed that in the overall average of appropriate and possibility were at the high level (M = 4.77, SD =0.25). The caregiver and health volunteers also assessed satisfaction of the model with the high level (M=4.96, SD =0.41).
