The Effect of Metaverse-Based Learning for Promote Health Literacy on Unintentional Pregnancy Perception and Pregnancy Prevention Behavior Perception Among Late Adolescents
Abstract
This two-group, post-test, quasi-experimental design aim to study the effectiveness of metaverse based learning programs on health literacy and the perception of pregnancy prevention behavior among the first year of bachelor's degree students. The sample were 50 female students aged 18-21 years, simple random sampling. There divided into a control group and, an intervention group, 25, 25 persons respectively. The experimental program preventing of unplanned pregnancies in late adolescence, integrated with experiential learning and health literacy concept, validated by 3 experts; the IOC value was .66 -1.0. Data collection instruments were including 1) personal data questionnaire 2) Health Literacy for Prevention Unwanted Pregnancy Questionnaire and the Pregnancy Prevention Behavior Questionnaire, reliability, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 083 and .89 respectively. Data was analyzed using percentage, average, standard deviation, and compared the mean of two-groups with independent t-test.
The Results showed that the mean score of cognitive and understanding domain of health literacy in control group (9.84 SD = 1.34) was significantly higher than experimental group (5.72 SD = 1.67) (P<.000). The other domains were not statistically significantly differences (P>.05). For the mean score of pregnancy prevention behavior perception, the intervention group had a statistically significant higher score (67.36 SD = 3.78) than the control group (62.40 SD = 10.77) (P < .05). The Metaverse program is a learning base on preventing unplanned pregnancies in late adolescence that is effective in changing teenage pregnancy prevention behaviors.
