ปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมการป้องกันโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 ของผู้สูงอายุตำบลบ้านโพธิ์ อำเภอโพนพิสัย จังหวัดหนองคาย

Abstract

This descriptive research aimed to study the elderly’s information regarding the factors associated with health status perceptions, factors associated with health needs, and preventive health behaviors against coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).  It also aimed to identify the relationship between factors associated with health status perceptions and factors associated with health needs, and preventive behaviors against COVID-19 among 286 elderly living in Ban Pho, Nong Khai Province. The collecting tools were four questionnaires including demographic data, factors related to health status perceptions and factors associated with health needs, and preventive behaviors against COVID-19.  All questionnaires were proved by three experts and met Cronbach’s alpha coefficient as follows: health status perceptions; health needs; and preventive behaviors against COVID-19 with scores of 0.86, 0.78, and 0.89, prospectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics - Pearson’s Product-Moment correlation coefficient.

               The results revealed high levels of average scores in all factors as follows: health status perceptions with a score of 2.76 (X=2.76, S.D.=0.09), health needs with a score of 2.65 (X=2.65, S.D.=0.29), and preventive behaviors against COVID-19 with a score of 2.82 (X=2.82, S.D.=0.09).  In terms of the relationship between studied factors, it appeared that the factors associated with health status perceptions and preventive behaviors against COVID-19 indicated a statistically significant level (r=0.10, p<0.05). In contrast, the relationship between factors associated with the participants’ health needs and their preventive behaviors against COVID-19 displayed no correlation.
