            การวิจัยกึ่งทดลองนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของการสนับสนุนในระยะคลอดโดยญาติผู้หญิงต่อความทุกข์ทรมานจากการเจ็บครรภ์คลอด การเผชิญการเจ็บครรภ์คลอด และความพึงพอใจต่อประสบการณ์การคลอด กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้คลอดครรภ์แรกที่มารับบริการการคลอดที่ห้องคลอด จำนวน 50 คน เลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างตามคุณสมบัติที่กำหนดแบบสะดวก แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 25 คน กลุ่มทดลองได้รับการสนับสนุนในระยะคลอดโดยญาติผู้หญิงร่วมกับการพยาบาลตามปกติ ส่วนกลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ ประเมินโดยใช้แบบวัดความทุกข์ทรมานจากการเจ็บครรภ์ แบบวัดการเผชิญการเจ็บครรภ์ และแบบวัดความพึงพอใจต่อประสบการณ์การคลอด วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติพรรณนา การทดสอบไคสแควร์ และการทดสอบทีแบบสองกลุ่มเป็นอิสระ

          ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คะแนนเฉลี่ยความพึงพอใจต่อประสบการณ์การคลอดของกลุ่มทดลองสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p< .05) แต่ความทุกข์ทรมานและการเผชิญการเจ็บครรภ์คลอดไม่แตกต่างกัน ผลการวิจัยนี้ให้ข้อเสนอแนะว่าพยาบาลห้องคลอดสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการสนับสนุนผู้คลอดเพื่อส่งเสริมให้ผู้คลอดเกิดความพึงพอใจต่อประสบการณ์การคลอด
