Quality of Nursing Graduates of Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Ratchaburi Perceived by the Superiors, Academic Year 2018

Abstract

     The purpose of this descriptive research were to survey 1) the quality and 2) identity of nursing graduates of Borommarajonani College of Nursing Ratchaburi, percieved by the superior in academic year 2018. The data of 131 subjects were collected through 2-part questionnaire; quality and identity of nursing graduates, while the qualitative data were approached by interview form. The quantitative data were then analyzed for finding percentage, mean, and standard deviation, whereas the qualitative data was analyzed by using content analysis.

        The study findings revealed as follows:

             1. The overall quality of nursing graduates based on 6 domains of TQF: HEd was at a good level (μ =3.90, σ= 0.63), as for considering in each aspect, the highest score was at the domain of moral and ethics (μ=4.14, σ= 0.65), followed by the domain of interpersonal skills and responsibility (μ=3.95, σ=0.65). Whereas, the lowest score was at the domain of cognitive skill.

            2. As for the qualitative data, it was found that the superior were satisfied with the quality of nursing graduates in almost all aspects and want them to be developed analytical thinking as well as linking knowledge into practice.

     Therefore, the learning management process needs to promote desirable characteristics to cover the framework of the National Qualifications Standards for Higher Education, particularly in cognitive skills by focusing the ability to efficiently solve problems according with the changing health contexts along with the graduate identity enhancement.
