Nursing Care for Patient with Uncontrolled Type2 Diabetes Mellitus : Case Study

Abstract

      Diabetes mellitus is chronic non-communicable diseases indicated health problem of globally population, including Thailand. It found that this disease increasingly health expenses. It pathology indicated of acute complication such as hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia which cause to poor health outcome if delay treatment.

      This article showed a case study uncontrolled of type 2 diabetes mellitus in diabetes clinic of outpatient department of Tapsakae hospital during February – Much 2021. Data collected from patient and relative caregiver by interviews and observations. Results demonstrated that they lacked of knowledge for self-management particularly, health promotion behaviors, eating, drug use, exercise, as well as, follow up. From this health problem, nurse should be corrected assessment and provided suitable cares plan with multidisciplinary team until they can management their health to prevent the complication with improving the quality of life.
