Factors Relating to Food Consumption Behaviors of Village Health Volunteer, Muang District, Samut Songkhram Province

The objective of this study was to study the factors related to food consumption behavior of public health volunteers, Muang District, Samut Songkhram Province. The target group was 307 public health volunteers of Mueang District, Samut Songkhram Province. The tool used was a questionnaire created by the researcher. The data were analyzed by using a ready-made computer program. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square. Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of this research were as follows:
- Food consumption behavior of the public health volunteers Mueang Samut Songkhram District at the moderate level, 37.8%.
- Personal characteristics there was not relationship with food consumption behavior of the public health volunteers.
- The predisposing factor was the food consumption attitude that a relations with food consumption behavior of the public health volunteers with statistical significance at the 0.05 level.
- The enabling factors were the convenience of purchasing food, obtaining health, and promotion policies there was a relationship with food consumption behavior of the health volunteers with statistical significance at the level of 0.05.
- Reinforcing factors were receiving information about food consumption from the media and people there was a statistically significant relationship with food consumption behavior at the 0.05 level.
From results of this research can be used to plan for modifying food consumption behaviors for the health volunteers to be more healthy and apply to other groups.
