Abstract

The purposes of this research and development were to determine health care participatory behaviors among the elderly according to the new normal, develop  model and study the effectiveness of the health care model according to the new normal by community and network participation. The sample size consisted of 60 elderly and 60 caregivers who were selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument was divided into 2 parts, health care model for elderly according to new normal and the questionnaire of health care participatory behaviors for elderly. The reliability of aspects determined by using Cronbach's alpha coefficient were .912, .892, .887 and .906, respectively. The data were then analyzed for finding descriptive statistics and t-tests. The results revealed as follows:

          1. The total mean scores on health care participatory behavior among the elderly and caregivers of the experimental group after using the model was statistically significantly higher than that before using model at the level of .05.

          2. The total mean scores on health care participatory behavior among the experimental group after using the model was statistically significantly higher than that of the comparison group at the level of .05.

Therefore, to promote health care participation for the elderly in the community, the potential of them and their caregivers should be developed  along with health care empowerment to create self-efficacy and adjust health care participatory behavior for sustainable positive health care.
