Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive research was to study level of stress and stress coping during COVID -19 outbreak of nursing students and study relationship between stress and stress coping of nursing students, Western University. The samples of 189 nursing students were selected by simple random sampling method. The research instrument was a questionnaires with 3 parts 1) general data 2) stress evaluation and 3) stress coping evaluation. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics for finding frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and spearman correlation coefficients. The results showed that

1. The average score of nursing students, stress was at a low level 58.70 percent

2. The score of stress coping was at a moderate level (M=2.45, SD=0.50). They release stress by television, movies, songs and games by score was at a high level (M=3.29, SD=0.82).

Therefore, the educational institutions should have program to promote stress coping among nursing students at all levels of stress in an appropriate context to encourage adaptation and appropriate behavior in the future.
