Factors Related to Diabetic Retinopathy in Type – 2diabetes in Damnoensaduak Hospital ,Ratchaburi Province, Thailand

The purpose of retrospective descriptive research were to study clinical factors and environmental factors that are related to the development of diabetic retinopathy. and changing levels of retinal examination results of type 2 diabetic. The sample consisted of medical records of 363 diabetic patients who received retinal screening, divided into 200 people with normal retinas. 163 people had optic nerve abnormalities. Secondary data were collected using data recording forms. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and chi-square test. The results found that
1. The duration of diabetes is related to the development of diabetic retinopathy was statistically significant. (p< 01)
2. Blood sugar level before breakfast, and cumulative blood sugar levels are related with the development of diabetic retinopathy, and the change in the level of diabetic retinopathy test results of patients with type 2 diabetes was statistically significant (p < 0.05).
Therefore, preventing the occurrence of diabetic retinopathy. and reduce the chance of diabetic disorders The retina does not spread. There should be a care system for nursing patients to be able to control their blood sugar levels within normal limits. And continuous retinal examinations should be followed up in diabetic patients who cannot control their blood sugar levels.
