Abstract

Knowledge Management is a process that gathers knowledge within an individual or documents to develop into practices, enabling the utilization of that knowledge for personal and organizational development. Phachomklao College of Nursing in Phetchaburi province, under the Faculty of Nursing, Praboromarajchanok Institute, has integrated the Knowledge Management process with the implementation of the Plan- Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle to enhance research proposal writing practices for external funding in a format called the I CAN DO Model. This model consists of six steps as follows: 1) I (Inspiration): Generate motivation by forming a research team that includes new, mid-career, and senior researchers to facilitate learning and emulate successful researchers who have secured funding. 2) C (Collaboration): Foster collaboration within the organization by establishing a Research Club and Research Clinic to provide consultation and support for research activities. 3) A (Appreciation): Show appreciation to faculty members who receive funding, both in online and onsite formats. 4) N (Norm): Encourage continuous knowledge exchange within the college. 5) D (Dream team): Build a diverse research team comprising new, mid-career, and senior researchers. 6) O (Opportunity): Seek external funding opportunities by submitting proposals, resulting in the college's success. The research funds from external sources are added to internal research funds, and the level of research support per faculty member is determined based on quality standards in education.
